| Josh Knight's Boba Fett |

| as seen in Star Wars - Episode VI: Return of the Jedi |
Here seen is the single most difficult figure I've made to this date. I started with a Jango Fett from Attack of the Clones
and a Boba Fett (OTC Vintage style) from The Empire Stikes Back. I put the boots (feet) and gloves/gauntlets (hands) on the
Jango Fett after putting on the jumpsuit. Of course, now I think I could have just put the head on the Boba Fett body.
The Jango Fett helmet was painted in several layers with different greens and rust (the rust was sealed with clear red).
The Jango Fett jetpack was dry brushed silver. The Boba Fett gauntlets were painted rust and sealed with clear red and dry
brushed silver after adding on the flamethrower from Jango's left gauntlet.
The armor on the vest was painted with a green enamel, and I used fingernail polish remover to remove the oil in the enamel.
I used the same method on the shoulder and knee pads. Ben stiched the strips of vinyl which made up the belt. And, due to
my lack of knowledge with sewing machines, my grandmother sewed the bags that hang from the belt. The Wookie scalps are made
of actual horse hair. One braid was dyed black.
The cape was sewn by machine and weathered using an x-acto knife and scissors. And lastly, the rifle. The original handle
was cut off and the handle of an oversized (closer to 1/5 scale) revolver was glued on. I also used an x-acto knife was used
to trim off the extra plastic under the scope. It took a long time to glue the stock back on, but I used a lot of superglue,
so it finally worked. I've recently put Boba on an Ultimate Soldier body to make him taller, but I'm not real happy with it,
so I might switch him back. For now, I think he looks pretty good.

Here is one of my earlier projects that got pushed back. It is Boba Fett from "The Empire Strikes Back." There are
many things that I learned from making my ROTJ Fett that went into play when I started this figure.
First of all, I removed his helmet/head and removed the vest, jumpsuit, gauntlets/hands, and boots/feet. I dyed the jumpsuit
several times, finally reaching a satisfying blue. I also dyed the bags that hand from his lower belt.
The top belt was painted with Testors Acrylic Leather. The lower, rope belt was colored with a red Sharpie and was mostly
removed with nail polish remover, leaving a red stain of the plastic.
I painted the vest white, and left the armor green. The left shoulder pad is from a failed exprirement from the ROTJ Boba
Fett (the original shoulder pad is now on the ROTJ Fett), where I removed the painted symbol and tried to paint my own. I
eventually made a clear label and placed it on the shoulder pad.
The cape was sewn by my aunt using a canvas type material. I made the rust colored stripe that runs down it vertically.
The gauntlets and gloves were repainted. The gauntlets were painted with a light grey/green, and the gloves were painted
grey in the proper areas (where it was colored green).
The helmet was "carved" out at the bottom to make it a helmet, and I found a BBI figure that resembled Jeremy
Bullock and used it for the head. The helmet was painted using mainly acrylics.
And last, but not least, the blaster rifle: I cut off the barrel and the scope. A barrel from an assault rifle was used
to replace the barrel, and I used a shovel handle from a ceap 1/6 accessory kit as the new barrel tip (which, in the film,
was a flashgun). I glued the scope on (facing the correct direction) and made small elevators to lift it off the barrel, like
the original prop.
This figure isn't quite finished since it needs the Wookie scalpts on top of his right shoulder. I am, however, planning
to sell this figure on eBay upon its completion. That's all for today, boys and girls.
